D'banj's Rocked his $25, 000 Suit of Money at DKM Concert

We Reported about the 'Suit of Money' D'banj acquired for $25, 000. Well, here it is. The suit, designed by Okunoren Twins, is made of actual One Hundred Dollar bills. It was entirely sewn by hand in London but was then taken to Italy for the specialized Milanese buttonholes to be done at the same factory used by Tom Ford. He wore it at his DKM concert last night. #Bigboythings. Nice suit!

Popular Singer, Alariwo Publicly Embarrassed At Lagos Event

It was a show of shame at an event, which held in Lagos recently, and which was anchored by notable musician, Alariwo of Africa.
The popular singer was allegedly insulted by an up and coming rapper.

According to reports, the budding artiste told Alariwo in clear terms that he could not stop his music career, no matter what.

This was after the artiste had performed at the event held at Niteshift Coliseum, Ikeja, Lagos. The artiste was angry with Alariwo shortly before he mounted the stage to perform at the event, which was an awards ceremony.

One of the eyewitnesses informed us that several efforts made by the rookie artiste to do his thing at the peak of the show were futile.

So, when he was finally called to display his talent, he used the opportunity to inform Alariwo that “even you can't stop me.”

The statement left Alariwo speechless for minutes, and he could not hide his anger at the utterance directed at him by the new artiste. All Alariwo could say was, “trust me, I pray you grow, but you will still pay homage to those before you.”

Guests at the awards ceremony were surprised by the show of sha

I Have Plans To Go Back To School - Tuface Idibia

Innocent Idibia popularly known as Tuface Idibia in an interview talks about his music, kids and plans for his education.

When asked if Tuface is a player, he replied, "If I were a player, they wouldn’t have caught me like that."
And on his role as a father, Tuface who has six kids from different women said it has not been easy, sometimes his work entails a lot of travelling and as such he does not see his kids as often as he wants to and although he had planned to have just one wife and kids, he has accepted things the way they have turned out.
When asked if he'll have qualms about his children following his footsteps, he simply said, "he won't discourage any of his children if they decide to follow in his footsteps musically. As a matter of fact, he'll be a good adviser."
A good thing though is that Tuface definitely plans to go back to school to get a law degree but he is not certain when that will be.
On why it took so long to settle with his wife Annie, he said, "I don’t really have an answer to that question, because I don’t know. I can’t explain why I don’t have an answer to that, but somehow, by the grace of God, we are still together."
So, why Tuface/2Face?
According to the artistes, it is a way of letting his fans know that his public and private lives are two separate entities. So the Tuface they see in the public, on TV, in papers, and hear on the radio is the public figure, who is different from who he really is.
We can say it's a case of Tuface(the star) and Innocent (the man).
On fame and worth?
Tuface says fame "takes away your privacy and freedom to do some kind of simple, basic things. Like I can’t go to Iya Christopher to sit down and eat amala, the way I dey do before". And as touching money/value, he says, "I never gather, but I dey try."
Tuface has also attributed his journey so far to hard work, his fans and the grace of God.

”I have only 8 weeks to survive” – OJB Jezreel

In a recent interview with Sunnykissprouction we found out that things are not looking Good with Ojb Jezreel at all.

Pls remeber his account details are: Babatunde Okungbowa. UBA – 1015075120. He says he has about 8 weeks to stay alive except he undergoes the operation.

What is the state of your health?

The state where we are is the state we actually need a transplant. When early diagnosis was done it was just a case of Renal Infection. Right now, the two kidneys are gone, but we a running dialysis at the moment.

When did you observe that you have this illness?

It was two years ago, but it was not depreciated to this level. Then it was a gradual process. it was just like a doctor’s prescription to control your blood pressure level. we did all that , but having off and on experience until it got to this stage.

What would you attribute to this ailment?

Most time people tend to atribute kidney problem to drunkenness or smoking. I was told that it doesn’t have anything to do with that, because as much as i drink and smoke then, it was casual drinking. maybe, they offer you a bottle of drink and all that, not that i have to drink 15 bottles or drink all through the day.

How much do you need for a transplant?

For transplant itself, it varies, because the procedure is $25000. The whole process of the treatment from pre-process,transplanting and post-transplanting will cost about $100,000. I(n two years i have spent up to five million which i have been trying to maintain myself. that is why it has been kept secret.

When are you going for the transplant?

God willing, i have like 8 to 10 weeks more to get it done. It’s strange, i still walk around a little. I can’t eat much again, N20 rice is even enough. I trust God and Nigerians for their financial assistance.

New Music: Wizkid - Jaiye Jaiye ft Femi Kuti

Here is the latest music from Wizkid and EME starboy

Genevieve Nnaji Begging D’banj To Take Her Back

Since the Kokomaster, D’banj, made a public confession that he’s still single and looking for a good woman to make wife, we reliably gathered that actress has been making frantic efforts to get back into the arms of the super star. A source, who is an insider in D’banj’s camp, said Genevieve and D’banj never really had a quarrel but that she was complaining too much of the many ladies around him. D’banj, he said, got tired of her drama and simply ignored her. she wants to come back by all means…
Genny just clocked 34 and its obvious she can’t just settle with any guy from the street corner; her has to be someone with somelevel of class. The source said she made contacts with D’banj at least three times in the last days of April but D’banj is still having some reservations.
One of his concerns, the source told Olufamous.com, is that Genny is too nosy and always wants to know everything about her partner. D’banj is the cool type who doesn’t like talking too much so he’s kind of having a hardtime accepting her back, even though he sure needs a woman now.
There is also the issue of age difference, D’banj will be 33 in June but Genevieve is already 34. She is said to playing the card of ‘age is just a number’ but D’banj is still taking his time, as the handsome groom.

D'banj's brother K-Switch set to launch his own record label

Sister Caro crooner K-Switch is getting ready to launch his own record label called Products Republic, which he says means a republic for anybody who thinks he/she is a product. The record label will be under D'banj's DB Records and will be launched with K-Switch's Scam 101 mix-tape in June.

Just back from Honeymoon the day before, 2face and Annie graced the occasion of the launch of Omawumi’s sophomore album, entitled Lasso Of Truth, which held at the Oriental Hotel, Lekki, Lagos on Sunday, April 7.
His performance was a masterclass as usual as he dueted with Omawumi on their collabo, What a Bang Bang, which he featured on the album. He also delivered a solo performance of his own song, If Love is a Crime to the delight of the audience who then demanded he also perform Ihe N’eme but he had to stick to the script of the show.

Kenny Ogungbe's Response On Why He Didn't Attend 2face Idibia's Wedding!

Even though we all thought 2face and Kenny Ogungbe’s music label, Kennis Music, parted ways amicably back in 2004, it might not be as we thought.
When asked by an Encomium reporter why he didn’t attend 2face Idibia’s Dubai wedding, Mr Ogungbe replied:
“I don’t think it is something you should ask me. Go and ask 2face why Primetime and Kennis Music were not in attendance. I am too old to start joining issues with people”
Perhaps there is still an open sore yet to be healed?

Doll face! Genevieve Nnaji covers Genevieve Magazine’s 10th anniversary edition

It doesn’t get more cliche than this; Nigerian star actress Genevieve Nnaji has covered popular women’s lifestyle and fashion publication Genevieve Magazine.
Something looks different though, Genny doesn’t wear her ubiquitous ‘calm and relaxed’ look, opting for the ‘doll house’ impression (think Nicki Minaj right now).
Nnaji, often referred to as the ‘Julia Roberts of Africa’ is dressed in a Lanre Da Silva dress, the photoshoot is credited to Moussa Moussa with her makeup done by Banke Meshida Lawal.

2face and Annie Idibia receive N12.6m Chevrolet Corvette Luxury Coupé gift from David Mark

Left: 2face, Annie cutting their wedding cake. Right: The Chevrolet Corvette Luxury Coupé gift. Photo: A.A.
One of the biggest gifts received by 2face and Annie, during their final wedding ceremony over the weekend, was the N12.6m Chevrolet Corvette Luxury Coupé.
The luxurious automobile was presented to the couple right after the wedding ceremony in Dubai, reportedly, courtesy Senate President David Mark, who hails from the same town as 2face; Idoma, Benue State. Mark did not personally attend the event.
The gift comes a few weeks after Akwa Ibom State Governor Godswill Akpabio blessed the lucky couple with an SUV gift when they visited the state for their traditional nuptials. Annie Uwana Macaulay is from Eket, in Akwa Ibom.
Again, there have been strong reactions and harsh criticisms over the very luxurious gift.
David Mark Rejected A Bill For Unemployed Graduates to be paid N20,000, yet he squandered money by giving a car for 2face as wedding gift‘, @HadiMusawa wrote.
But other reports suggest that it might not have been a gift from David Mark after all. Some blogs report that Kola Ologbondiyan, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to David Mark, allegedly claims the gift is not from the Senate President.
Senator Mark did not visit Dubai for Tiface wedding rather he attended the 128th Inter parliamentary Union (IPU) conference currently holding in Quito, Ecuador. He was also not represented at Mr. Idibia’s wedding.
It is also instructive to state that the President of the Senate, Senator Mark, did not make a car donation of any kind to Tuface before departing Nigeria for Ecuador neither did he purchase nor send any car to Dubai as a wedding gift for the musician or his wife‘, the statement read.
The controversial gift however came with a paper tag which read ‘Wedding gift from Senator David Mark to Tuface and Annie‘.
Who’s lying now?

Inside story of Jesse Jagz’s war with Chocolate City

Chocolate City – Executives and recording artistes. Photo: Chocolate City Group

His statement:
I, Jesse Garba Abaga (also known as ‘Jesse Jagz’) an artist formerly signed to Chocolate City Music label hereby wishes to notify my fans and the general public about my voluntary exit from the label.
After my initial two year contractual agreement with Chocolate City, I do not wish to renew my contract with them and as such have proceeded to continue my music career with my new team at Jesse Jagz Nation.
I still maintain a cordial relationship with the management of
Chocolate City and my former label mates and I wish them the best in all their future endeavours.
Any further information will be passed across through my publicist but until then, have a good day. Look out for my sophomore album JagZNation Vol. 1 coming out in July 2013′.
This comes as a sudden shock to everyone including some staff and executives at Chocolate City but those in the know will tell you this was long expected.
Close sources to Jesse Jagz and Chocolate City tell us there had been an ungoing war between the ‘Wetin dey’ singer and the popular label.
Jagz, one source told SUNNYKISSPRODUCTION, ‘was fed up with the way the label was handling his career and decided to frustrate them in return.’
Jagz last release was his debut album in May 2010, after then he sort of went into comatose, save for his production of Ice Prince and BrymO’s albums in 2011 and 2012 and a few minor releases, we might not have noticed his presence.
Chocolate City have a one-year/one-artiste project run’, a staff at Chocolate City tells SUNNYKISSPRODUCTION.
(2008-2009 was M.I, then ’09-’10 was Jesse, ’10-’11 was M.I again, ’11-’12 was Ice Prince, ’12-’13 was for Brymo, this year’s run ’13-’14 was meant to be for Jesse Jagz).
But Chocolate City signed three new acts – Pryse, Nosa and Victoria Kimani and started concentrating on the last two when they noticed Jesse had started giving them trouble’, our source adds.
Jesse would refuse to go to the label’s studio at Lekki Phase 1, he and the other choc boys M.I and Ice Prince had built separate studios in their Palmgroove, Lagos residence. Jesse just kept making music, a lot of music, over 100 songs’.
Then there were allegedly two strong claims the label made against ‘Jargo’; the first that he owed a lot of money.
‘Choc City said Jargo owed them money, there were several cases where he would travel to the North for a gig and wouldn’t bring back anything to the label. At times, he would claim they paid him just to appear and that didn’t hold under his contractual agreement’.
The second was his alleged substance abuse. There are very strong claims that Jesse Jagz, a truly talented rapper and producer, is addicted to Marijuana.
Everybody smokes ‘igbo’ but Jesse’s own was too much! He would be reeking of Igbo smell when he came up to the studio to hang out. Don’t you see his Instagram photos, don’t you read his revolutionary tweets? He thinks he’s Fela or Bob Marley for Christ’s sake!
Sources say Sola Oladebo, Jesse’s manager for the last three years, is tired of the whole situation.
Sola is tired, fed up but can’t leave him now, he has invested too much time in Jargo. At a time, there was nothing to do as Jesse career was dormant, so when Choc City fired Ice Prince’s former manager in 2012, they made Sola the interim manager’.
We are told till the night of his shocking announcement, elder brother M.I and the other Choc Boys were unaware of his self-imposed exit. M.I had just released his comeback single for his next album ‘The Chairman’ when Jesse dropped the bombshell.
M.I was as shocked as everyone else. He’s not happy Jesse didn’t tell him of the situation first. He has erased all thoughts of leaving Choc City now as a sign to show loyalty’, a friend to M.I says.
An insider told us over the weekend, that the last straw that broke the camel’s back was when Audu Maikori, top exec at the label summoned him via E-mail, he simply replied with two words ‘F**k You’.
Maikori could not be reached and we’re told that following Jagz’ statement, he immediately contacted all staff (including artistes) and instructed them not to speak to the press.
Attempts to reach him and other staff at the label through emails, phone calls and text messages have been unsuccessful.
Jesse’s manager could not be reached for comments as his mobile phone was switched off.
Will other acts follow suit? An insider tells us ‘Watch out for Brymo, he might also throw in the towel soon. He had issues with Vice Presido M.I in 2012, he also has grown wings, you can never tell’.
But there are the likes of M.I and Ice Prince  - two prized acts at the successful label who have publicly assured fans Choc City will remain home for a long time.
Jesse Jagz, 28, signed to the label along with his elder brother Jude ‘M.I’ Abaga in 2008 after the gifted rapper became an instant success with his debut ‘Talk About It‘.
Jesse Jagz in late 2009 went on to release his debut ‘Jagz of All Trades’ which spurned the hit songs ‘Wetin dey’ amongst other chart topping cuts.

Wizkid to return to former music label, EME

If everything goes according to plan, Wizkid will soon be returning to his former music label, EME Music Group, this is according to a reliable industry source. The source revealed to me exclusively that Wizkid and EME bosses have been going back and forth for the last couple of weeks through their lawyers trying to agree on new terms of them working together again.
"Wizkid leaving EME was just his way of pushing the bosses at the label to take him seriously and increase his earning percentage. When he joined EME he wasn't a star but then he became a mega star and was making a lot of money for the label and they still didn't increase his earning percentage so he took a walk. Now they are working on a new contract that will favour Wizkid." The source said
I hear in the new contract being drafted, EME will not take a dime from Wizkid's international deals. When they start working together again, remember you read it here first! :-)

Happy 32nd birthday to Mr Capable

The singer and music label exec is a year older today Wednesday March 27th. He's celebrating with friends in Dubai. Happy birthday to him and many more successful years ahead.

The Forbes Five: Hip-Hop's Wealthiest Artists 2013

1. Diddy - $580 million: The bulk of the Bad Boy Records founder’s wealth comes from non-musical ventures, namely his deal with Diageo’s Ciroc. The agreement entitles him to eight-figure annual payouts and a nine-figure windfall if the brand is ever sold—and Ciroc’s value has never been higher

2. Jay Z - $475 million: He’s still rolling in cash from megadeals like his $204 million Rocawear sale in 2007 and his $150 million pact with Live Nation the following year. He continues to hold stakes in Roc Nation, Carol’s Daughter, the Brooklyn Nets and, more significantly, the Barclays Center itself, while adding new partnerships with the likes of Duracell, Budweiser and Bacardi’s D’ussé Cognac

See the last three after the cut...

3. Dr Dre - $350 million: It's thanks mostly to his Beats by Dr. Dre headphones. A year after selling 51% of the company to handset maker HTC for $300 million in August 2011, Dre and his partners bought back half of the half they sold in 2012—and their investment continues to soar in value due to Beats’ whopping 65% market share of the premium ($99 and up) headphone market.

4. Bryan “Birdman” Williams - $150 million: Riding from his Cash Money/Young Money empire. His roster includes Drake, Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne (the latter crossed the $100 million threshold for the first time this year, by our estimates, but remains just outside the top five). Birdman also recently launched a YMCMB clothing line and a spirit called GT Vodka.

5. 50 Cent - $125 million: The bulk of his fortune came from heavy sales of his music, merchandise, video games and books in the wake of his smash debut Get Rich or Die Tryin’- and particularly from his payout for the sale of his stake in VitaminWater parent Glacéau to Coca-Cola in 2007.
