The gifted singer who was the last artiste to arrive the venue at 1:48AM made the crowd grow wilder at 3:57AM as jammed his classic hit, ‘Kolomental’. Even as the rain drizzled, the crowd still stayed and grooved to Faze’s songs which he performed over a live band. How impressive? He unlike any other artiste that night pulled more attention and made the crowd go wild.

Obesere gave the knock-out performance stepping on stage at 3:10AM, the happily crowd all went wild as they dance away. His songs were recited like nursery rhymes from A to Z as they dig it with all their energy.

2Face, Wizkid, Mo’Cheddah, Ice Prince, Waje and Illbliss To Record Theme Song For The Headies 2011!

Mo'Cheddah
As we all countdown to this year’s The Headies awards, organizers of the yearly show have announced that they have put together a list of stars to work on a theme song.
According to Ayo Animashaun, CEO Smooth Promotions, organizers of the event, six Nigerian acts – African pop icon 2face Idibia, fast rising pop stars Wizkid, Mo’Cheddah, and Ice Prince, R&B singer Waje and veteran rapper Illbiss will form the six-man team to record this year’s theme song which will be produced by urban music maker Samklef.
In 2009, the theme song, ‘A Prize to Die For’ was recorded by M.I, Kel and Banky W while eLDee da Don produced. The song was released a week before the Awards and did not have enough time to sink into the public. This was why we decided to use only the beat in 2010. This year, all hands are on deck to ensure an earlier release which will be followed with the video. And with this set of acts be assured we shall come up with another smash hit that communicate the theme for this year’s event: as well as the key values of our awards’, Animashaun explains.
A meeting was held recently to brief the performing acts on their roles and in making the song which was also related to the audience expectancy from them and the awards in general.
I’m privileged to be a part of this theme song and these guys are my friends so we should have fun on this project’, Ice  Prince says
This is our time, the last theme song was produced by old artistes’ said Wizkid, sarcastically referring to Banky W and M.I
I’m ready and capable to deliver on the theme song and fans should expect nothing but the best’, Waje delightfully says.
Samklef says ‘Working with all these talented artistes is going to be a challenge and the outcome will be something great’.
Recently organizers announced that Nollywood actress Rita Dominic and performing artiste eLDee da Don as host for this year’s award.

‘Why I Fought Patience Ozokwor’ – Mercy Johnson

Actress Mercy Johnson who was reportedly in a showdown with her older colleague, Patience Ozokwor on location in Asaba few weeks back, has blamed her uncontrollable outburst on Ozokwor’s repeated utterances referring to her as an ‘ashawo’- a hoochie.
In a telephone interview, Mercy recounted her side of the story to NET. She noted that Patience Ozokwor was given a revealing clothe to wear on that location, apparently to depict a character in the movie that was in the making and Patience allegedly refused the outfit, stating that she is not Mercy Johnson, not an ‘ashawo’.
“I’m not a prostitute. I don’t like the name. I told her I didn’t like it”, Mercy told NET. According to her, the faceoff was escalated when Mama Gee refused to stop calling her by unpleasant name.
By last week, there were unconfirmed reports that the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) might take a disciplinary action against Mercy Johnson and Patience Ozokwor but when NET contacted the AGN president, Segun Arinze via SMS, he simply stated that the issue has been sorted out in-house.
The text message read “Hello sir, I just want to know if the AGN is taking any disciplinary action against Mercy Johnson and Patience Ozokwor”.
“No it’s sorted out. Thanks”, he replied. Arinze would not comment further.
Arinze, sources said, has instructed both parties not to make any further comments on the matter.

I Still Get Advances From Men-Monalisa Chinda

Aside being the ravishing actress, who has wormed her way into the hearts of movie lovers via her acting prowess and enchanting looks, Monalisa Chinda have also had her fair share of the pain that comes with stardom when her marriage to entertainment businessman, Dejo Richards broke down irretrievably few years back.

However, the sultry actress, who passes for the painting of legendary Monalisa with her fairy tale look, has not only moved on with her life but has brilliantly moved on at that.

Even with a child in her kitty, she still looks radiant and one question that continually begs for answer, especially last weekend during the premiere of her flick, ‘Kiss and Tell’, is how well and often does she still get advances from the male folks since she’s now single and free.

“I’m flattered hearing I still look ravishing. And as long as I’m living and there’s breathe in me as a woman and I feel very attractive, men will always come, in a nutshell, we are coping with their advances,’ she hinted.

However, she quickly chipped in that she hardly get advances as she’s hardly in the public glare like many would have expected.

“I’m hardly out there and so I hardly get advances but once in a while few advances here and there and I’m always polite enough to rebuff them,” she noted.

Nevertheless, a view of her newly premiered movie, ‘Kiss and Tell’ might give the impression that the flick was actually her way of telling the story of the complications in her life.
