2Face, Wizkid, Mo’Cheddah, Ice Prince, Waje and Illbliss To Record Theme Song For The Headies 2011!

Mo'Cheddah
As we all countdown to this year’s The Headies awards, organizers of the yearly show have announced that they have put together a list of stars to work on a theme song.
According to Ayo Animashaun, CEO Smooth Promotions, organizers of the event, six Nigerian acts – African pop icon 2face Idibia, fast rising pop stars Wizkid, Mo’Cheddah, and Ice Prince, R&B singer Waje and veteran rapper Illbiss will form the six-man team to record this year’s theme song which will be produced by urban music maker Samklef.
In 2009, the theme song, ‘A Prize to Die For’ was recorded by M.I, Kel and Banky W while eLDee da Don produced. The song was released a week before the Awards and did not have enough time to sink into the public. This was why we decided to use only the beat in 2010. This year, all hands are on deck to ensure an earlier release which will be followed with the video. And with this set of acts be assured we shall come up with another smash hit that communicate the theme for this year’s event: as well as the key values of our awards’, Animashaun explains.
A meeting was held recently to brief the performing acts on their roles and in making the song which was also related to the audience expectancy from them and the awards in general.
I’m privileged to be a part of this theme song and these guys are my friends so we should have fun on this project’, Ice  Prince says
This is our time, the last theme song was produced by old artistes’ said Wizkid, sarcastically referring to Banky W and M.I
I’m ready and capable to deliver on the theme song and fans should expect nothing but the best’, Waje delightfully says.
Samklef says ‘Working with all these talented artistes is going to be a challenge and the outcome will be something great’.
Recently organizers announced that Nollywood actress Rita Dominic and performing artiste eLDee da Don as host for this year’s award.
